*** Do Not Quit Smoking! Click Here *** Nicotine is one of the most addictive narcotics readily available today. Around the globe millions of people are addicted to cigarette smoking and a lot of these would like to stop mainly because of the health dangers of smoking. There are many different treatments in the marketplace which aim to help people stop smoking. One of the most recent and controversial of these is laser treatment programs. Just like acupuncture, but with a pen instead of a needle, during the laser treatment to stop smoking the pulses from a cold laser are applied to the persons face, ears, neck and the side of the nose for around thirty minutes. Theoretically these painless laser pulses will stimulate the brain to begin producing endorphins which are hormones that promote a feeling of well-being and are the body's natural pain killers similar to those released by smoking. This supposedly decreases nicotine cravings and eases withdrawal symptoms for three days after the treatment. So by producing these endorphins in the brain with the treatment reduces the need for the smoker to get these feelings of well-being and relaxation by lighting up a cigarette. The laser treatment is an expensive option for those wanting to quit their smoking habit. Treatments vary from $300 to $450 US dollars. Some centers claim a thirty minute session is sufficient whilst others advocate 2 or 3 such treatments with counselling sessions, vitamin supplements and after support. Some insurance companies will cover the treatments. There are many good personal reviews available which support the stop smoking laser treatment but there has also been a lot of criticism with some groups claiming that the success rate is low and that there are only a few published studies which prove that the stop smoking laser treatment works. The stop smoking laser treatment has still not been completely approved by the FDA but with many people continuing to use the therapy to stop smoking it remains a popular option for those wanting to give up cigarettes and live a healthier life.About the Author:
