A quick rule of thumb is the following: If the number is + you can always put a decimal point in-between the number to find out the percentage of payout. Ie +120 = 1.20. This translates into 120%, which would net $1.2 winnings on a $1 bet. This again represents a 120% increase over your bet if Tampa ends up winning. If the number is - then you will have to bet that portion to win the $100. For example -160 should equal $1.6 bet to win $1.
What does a simple +/- line tell a bettor. Simply put, if a team is minus than they are the favorite. If the team is plus they are the underdog. Lines falling with -160 to +140 can be considered relatively close. Lines up in the -200's are games that feature heavy favorites. On rare occasions both teams will be -110.
