A mistake too many marketers make when designing their MLM marketing system is to focus entirely on how to get the "quick sale" or the "quick sign up." While this focus may produce more money in the short term, it may be causing you to LOSE a lot of profit in the long-term and overall.

A better focus to have when designing your MLM marketing system is to think long term. That is not to say that you are not trying to (or going to) make money NOW, it is to say that a smart marketer recognizes the potential lifetime value of each person on their list.

To this end, there are two major components (keys to success) to utilize when designing your MLM marketing system.

Success Key #1 - Building A List: While this may initially seem to be a bit of a "no brainer," the truth is that many network marketers focus their MLM marketing system on selling the business opportunity instead of focusing on building a list of people who are looking for the solution to a problem or the answer to an issue with which they have been struggling.

Success Key #2 - Build A Relationship With Your List: Here is where that long term mindset comes into your MLM marketing system. One of the most important things you can do to build a solid, profitable organization is to build a good relationship with your list. Building and keeping a good relationship with your list will keep your retention rates high.

Remember that your list is the most valuable asset in your business. You want to not only build it, but take care of it. So how do you do this? Here are two good tips.

First, twice a week send out an email to your list that provides them meaningful content (about things that are of interest to your list). When I say send them content, I mean content -- not a sales pitch disguised as content.

Second, to confirm that you are sending your list information that is meaningful to them, two to three times a year do an online survey. The results of that survey will tell you two valuable pieces of information: whether what you've been sending has been meaningful content in the eyes of your list and exactly what topics your list considers to be meaningful content.
