On the contrary if the voltage rating reads 110 or 120V then it means that the product is single volt and would require a low voltage transformer in 220V.

Once it is established that a voltage transformer is required, the next step should be to ensure that an appropriate product is purchased for the appliance. However, buyers are advised to purchase voltage transformers only after considering wattage rating of their appliances. Normally, one should go for a voltage transformer that is at least 25% higher than the product's wattage rating.

It is also advised to have appropriate plug adapter before purchasing the transformer.
