For many, the reason to come to Spain is because of the weather. Northern Europeans flock to Spain to lie on Spain's famous beaches with supposedly guaranteed sun all day, every day. It is true that in the summer it will usually be sunny, especially in the south but in most of the rest of the country too. However, there is never any guarantee! It's also worth noting that July and August can be too hot in so many cities.

Weather in Spain by Month and Season

For convenience the Spanish seasons are split into equal three-month chunks, when in reality they are not so evenly divided. For more specific advice, refer to the below seasons details.

Winter Weather in Spain

December|January|February

It is pretty much cold in inter weather anywhere in Europe and that includes most of Spain. You can ski in Spain but sunbathing is unlikely unless you head to the very south of the country. These are the wettest months in Spain.

Spring Weather in Spain

March|April|May

This is the ideal time to visit if you like the cool weather (but not cold) as the temperatures start to creep up before the spring showers hit.

Summer Weather in Spain

June|July|August

During summer season much of the country is bathed in glorious sunshine, but that doesn't mean you're guaranteed great weather. While Spain doesn't get as much rainfall as other European countries, some rain is a possibility at any time of year.

Fall Weather in Spain

September|October|November

After the intense heat of the summer, normal service is starting to resume in Spain and the cities are beginning to be repopulated after the summer exodus. While Spain doesn't get as much rainfall as other European countries, some rain is a possibility at any time of year.About the Author:
