subject: Moms, Get The Money For Your Education [print this page]

The US economy continues to struggle, and that unfortunately leaves many people with uncertain futures. Many people have lost jobs, and finding new employment has been difficult. Others who have just entered the work force, like recent college grads, may be discouraged by the lack of opportunities. Unfortunately the future isn't bright in all areas. The condition of the job market may remain for many more months.

New economic opportunities are one way to improve these awful forecasts. President Obama and Congress have attempted to make home ownership easier and make fleecing the consumer harder. The President and Congress have also focused on education. One area that has received specific focus is financial aid for college students. The Scholarships for Mothers agenda has been approved and pushed by President Obama. Mothers of all kinds can use education to direct the path of their families' futures.

For years the government has awarded Pell Grants based on financial need, and this system provides the Obama mom grants. Pell Grants were increased by about $1,000 so that now moms can be awarded as much as $5,000. With $5,000 moms can pay for any number of school-related costs. There are expected expenses like tuition and books, but for mothers childcare is also important which is why it can be covered as well. It's also important to note that school options are not very limited. Two- and 4-year colleges and universities are acceptable. There are even some online study options.

Filling out the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first and most important step. Going online to fill out that form is the first step to receive any potential grants. The FAFSA site can instruct you how to fill out that form as well as direct you to other potential sources of financial aid. There is a long list of financial opportunities available for education. In addition to the internet also call a school's financial aid office to answer aid questions.

Education is no doubt a priority now as well as for the future. College-educated mothers are great assets to their families as well as business and industry. Obama's scholarships for moms will go a long way toward changing things in a positive way. To make sure the outlook is bright, it's important now to prepare with knowledge.
