That said, it is a fantastic software. It 's really difficult to start from 0 WPM where you can already type, but this program is very funny - I actually look forward to my practice every night. The lessons progress very slowly, which is actually a bonus, because the software is very complete. With lessons, tests, dictation, and games with multiple skill levels and options, the software is never age. One thing I might add, would be an option in the long-term goals and short term. My short term goals are usually 30-50 WPM, but I want to see my progress towards a long-term goal.
I upgraded to iLife 09 of 07 so my daughter could enjoy the new iMovie. She is 12 and "required" the new version so that it can pursue his film career. She is happy, I'm happy. This is the third time I purchased Family Tree Maker and I still think they have a great product. The first time I bought was almost 18 years ago in the Stone Age with floppies. LOL. FTM2010 is a version of the consumer. I love what they did with the personal profile page that shows a lot of new information. This is a great improvement over older versions. The update of my FTM file through without incident and has imported all the files fine. No problem. Very please with the software and recommend to a beginner or an experienced user.
