Dijon is known for its Mustards. Almost 90% of the local production is exported to other countries. But today most of the mustard is produced industrially with around 90% of seeds imported from Canada.
Dijons also produces some of the best wines of the country. It has many superb vineyards that produce some of the best wines in the country. It is a major source of employment and contributes a significant part to GDP. City's blackcurrant wine (crme de cassis) is well known worldwide.
Transport Facilities in Dijon:
The city of Dijon is located 300 km. from Paris and is connected by fast TGV train services. The train takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. It takes almost 3 to 4 hours to reach here from Paris by car.
