subject: Want To Know All The Gossip From The Expendables Uk Premiere? [print this page]

Monday was the UK premiere of The Expendables, but with a lack of cast in attendance, ex-glamour model Jordan stole the show.

Stars of the film Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren were the only members of the all-star cast to attend.Instead of being joined by Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, they posed with members of the British military.

Despite the display of manly muscle and the likes of the legendary Rocky star Sly Stallone, it was Brit Katie Price who seems to have got the papers talking today.Dressed in a see-through black tunic with her underwear clearly on display, skin-tight thigh-high black boots and a killer pout, she spent time posing on the red carpet. What got people talking was the absence of her cage fighting husband on her arm. Alex Reid reportedly couldn't attend due to training commitments in Amsterdam the following morning.

To make matters worse for Alex, Katie was later seen cosying up to 23- year-old boxer Amir Khan at the after-party at Planet Hollywood. It is rumoured that Katie and Amir dated briefly last year, but Katie insists they are just good friends, having met while filming TV show Scream If You Know The Answer.

While Katie caused controversy, writer, director and actor of the film, Stallone revealed his desire to be a role model. The 64-year-old actor said: "Every generation has to have a hero and this generation has the superhero, it's evolved. But after Avatar it's like, 'Stop, let's go back to basics'.

"Young men need good examples, role models. I know I do, and I hope I might be one of the influences on young guys."He went on to defend the film that a number of critics have criticised for the level of violence in it : "I always believe the violence is justifiable. The one thing in my films ... I only kill people that need to be killed."

The Expendables tells the story of a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Of course, things are never as easy as they first appear and with an innocent life in danger, the men struggle to complete the mission together. The film pays homage to the action blockbuster films of the 1980's and early 90's and even stars a number of actors we associated with action films of that era.

The film will be released in the UK on August 19th.What do you think, will you be watching it for a serious dose of testosterone?
