Most of the features that make the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast a virtual hot rod among drivers (Dual Crown Technology, aerodynamic clubhead design and an ultra-thin clubface) are also present in the SuperFast TP. The Tour Preferred model has a slightly more open and shallower face than the standard SuperFast, and it also features a heavier Tour Velvet grip. Still, the SuperFast TP is one of the fleetest drivers in TaylorMade's arsenal, thanks to a longer than normal shaft (46 inches) and an aggressively shaped clubhead design. The curved crown around the front and heel of the club helps reduce drag, increasing clubhead speed by up to 2 mph over the '09 Burner TP.
A dual crown, with the smaller of the two crowns on top, allows extra weight to be pulled back low and deep in the head to increase carry and distance. An expanded face area (just over 4,000 square millimeters) and 460cc head also boost confidence. The Superfast TP comes with a Matrix HD6 65-gram shaft (to promote a more piercing ball flight) and is finished entirely in black, similar to the R9 SuperTri.
