subject: The Magic Behind Ebay Arbitrage [print this page] Their site looks like the US site and I am familiar with the word, Weltweit, which means worldwide. Once I am sure that the Seller will ship to me I translate the page by copying and pasting it into Google translating. Finding products on other websites and sell them on eBay is really what eBay arbitrage is whole about.
There are many Germans who speak English. If they dont, however, they will be able to have our address out of the translated message. You dont have a communication issue. You can use the dictionary site to translate your emails from English to German. When I found the way to use translation sites, it really open the door for me to a lot more variety of products, and my earning from eBay arbitrage deals were sky rocking.
Paypal is the easiest way to pay for an item. If the Seller doesnt want to deal with Paypal you can safely wire the money directly to the Sellers bank account for a $20-$30 fee from the US. Be sure to specify the amount the Seller receives is in Euros, not converted dollars as the amount to send. Dont forget to include the transfer fees and currency conversions as well as the shipping cost to determine your bid amount.
There are three more forms of eBay arbitrage that I want to discuss. I have been dealing in trains for almost 30 years. I have a good reputation and following. Naturally, I know other collectors but they do not buy trains on eBay. They are either too busy, or they have a fear of getting ripped off. Because they wont do it, I can make money off of their purchases. When I see trains that will interest them I bid on the auction, and if I buy it I will offer it to the local collectors. My best example of this happened a few years ago. I bought a train set on eBay for $581, including postage. When they arrived, I made a call and sold them for $1600. I made $1000 for a half and hours work. Even more, the Seller took credit cards so I paid with my Visa and sold the items for cash before the credit card even came through.
It might seem like free money. It really isnt but I have made it my business to know every single thing that I can about eBay arbitrage. It is something that requires commitment and a desire for information.
The next form of arbitrage on eBay is another location issue. I buy large steel pedal cars and wagons. I look for the most attractive ones in areas where I can physically drive to. Last year I bought one out of Southern California for $85. I asked a friend to pick it up from the Seller and another friend to bring it back to Arizona. I cleaned it up, listed it and sold it for $750. My profit was $665!
The last method of eBay arbitrage is searching local auctions. You wont make as much money doing things this way but it is more profitable than some of the other ways. Every once in a while it pays well.
I look in the paper for local auctions where people sell trains in lots. I contact the Sellers through eBay, and then try to get them to let me come over to see what they have. These Sellers are incredibly greedy, and making a sale is like pulling teeth, but I am more interested in getting inside their homes. I am sleuthing.
These Sellers have, of course, researched their trains, but maybe have not researched the toy car sitting on a shelf in the garage, or the guns in the closet, or the bicycles. Can you see what I am doing here? I am going to others homes with a wallet full of bills, and I am buying other items. I have a recent example of this. I bought a small toy car, and I paid $35 for it. I sold it on eBay for $335. I also do well with dishes and vases.
I will finish this now with a bit of last advice. In order to do this properly, you must absolutely use two separate eBay accounts. The main account has the high feedback and everybody knows about it. I have other eBay accounts that I buy from. I use these other buying accounts until I gather 30-40 feedbacks or until people figure out that its me, then move on to another account.
Do NOT ever buy something from your eBay arbitrage selling account. Keep that account classified and do not become emotionally involved with it.
It is so important to know, if you want to benefit from eBay arbitrage, everything that you can about what you concentrate on, regardless of what it is. If you can form a list of Buyers, then it is doubly great.
