Planning a party is fun, but it pays to be organized. Planning a bachelorette party is no different. Organization is key to a successful bachelorette party. What is the best way to stay organized when party planning? Creating a checklist and timeline for the party and following it can be a great way to keep things on track if you are planning a bachelorette party.

What's the first thing that needs to be on your checklist? How about the type of bachelorette party you are going to throw. Most people have some preconceived notion that a bachelorette party is a wild night out on the town with the girls, or a night at a male strip club. This isn't the case at all. The type of party your bride to be wants to have can be just about anything you can imagine a trip to a winery, a day at an amusement park, time at a spa getting pampered, or a night out at a comedy club. Have a conversation with the bride to be and find out what she would like the bachelorette party to be.

Next on the checklist should be the party date and location. If your bride to be wants to be pampered at a spa, the Saturday before the wedding would be a nice day to unwind and relax with the girls. If she wants a night out dancing and clubbing, perhaps a week or two before the big day is a good idea. No one wants to be tired or hung over at their own wedding! Make phone calls early in the process to find the perfect party location. You might need to make a reservation or special arrangements for the bachelorette party based on the number of people who will be attending or the date and time you want the party to be.

After you have finalized the party theme, date and location, invitations are next. Bachelorette party invitations don't have to be formal, written ones like the ones sent out for the bridal shower or wedding. They can be a casual call or email to the friends and family members of the bride to be. Follow up with the guests a few days before the bachelorette party if you haven't heard back from them about whether or not they are coming to your party.

Depending on where you have the party you might need to purchase paper goods, decorations, and favors. These should be on the bachelorette party checklist as well.

The final item on the checklist have fun! Don't get yourself so worked up on the details of the party that you cannot allow yourself to unwind and relax when party day arrives. Bachelorette parties are meant to be fun. A little organization during the party planning process will allow you to have fun with the bride to be and friends.
