We all get stuck into ruts eating unhealthy foods sometimes. It doesn't have to stay that way though. If you are like me you have considered moving onto a better diet with a healthier lifestyle. This does not mean you have to be super rich, though. You can do this without spending a ton of money. You may have to spend some more time making these meals but it will benefit you in the long run. You will have affordable food that tastes great and that are great for your health.

You must plan for this properly. Don't stray from the list. When you go food shopping have a list of what you need to buy. It can be tempting to have a ton of impulse buys at the supermarket. I know what it's like. If you are serious about this though, you need to make a list so you can stay focused on what your body really needs. You will be more likely to stay on track and avoid all the junk food that you are trying to avoid anyways. This will promote your well being.

For saving money, you should really check out the weekly deals that supermarkets have printed. Sometimes they offer coupon books too. Manufacturers will often mail out their own coupons you can use at retailers too. Purchasing larger amounts of food will usually result in bulk discounts. This is true mostly for packaged foods. Fresh fruit or produce are usually a set price by the pound, but they are fairly cheap to begin with anyways. Buying produce in season will save you lots of money and get you better tasting foods.

Finally, eat at home. When you eat out, you pay a lot more for food since a lot of it goes to paying for service too. There is a great markup on food when you go out. If you want to eat well, the markup may even be higher. Junk foods and fast food sell for lower prices since they are usually filled with sodium and preservatives so they can hit the low price points.
