A hyperlink (or link) is a word, phrase or image that you can click on to jump instantly to a new document or a new section of the current document.
When you move cursor over a hyperlink, the cursor turns into a hand, indicating that it is a link and the URL or web address of that Anchor Text Hyper Link will appear in the lower left hand corner of your browser.
Hyperlink Text or Anchor Text is simply the colored text written on the screen that is clickable and that will lead the reader to the target location, the location to which the hyperlink leads.

In order to get a high PageRank in Google you should use topic- relevant key words as the hyperlink text and have the hyperlinks lead to other pages in your website that are full of good quality content.
This is a much more effective way to boost your SEO.
If enough people link to a document using the same phrase in their anchor text, Google will associate that phrase with the page.
So, if, for example, your page mentions a book available at Amazon, put a link that says learn more about Amazon rather than click here.
In fact, this technique can be so effective that it can make Web pages appear in search results that don't even use the search phrase.
