To improve your strength, agility and endurance, be sure to engage in cardio activities, such as running or swimming, and weight training. Participating in sports, like tennis will help improve your agility which will help you can avoid your opponent's blows.

Start Fighting - Once you, or your instructor, feel like you are ready enough, you should begin fighting in tournaments. Up until 2008, professional levels mixed martial arts fighting was outlawed in Missouri. Since it's the ban was lifted, St. Louis Mixed Martial Arts fighters have formed a system of competition that pits people against opponents of their same skill level. For example, beginners will fight other beginners until they prove themselves capable of moving onto the next level. Now, you've won some competitions and have some experience under your belt move onto the next level until you reach the level of pro. It is at this level that you can try out for the UFC. Even if you don't get in, though, you can be proud of the skills and awards you gain in your career so far.
