Its function is a lot like what Vitamin B2 is to Vitamin A: a coenzyme, which is to say that without Vitamin B2, no matter how much you take, you still won't get the benefit that Vitamin A has to offer.

Vitamin B-6 helps control acne breakout just before menstruation. This vitamin helps eliminate pre-menstrual breakouts by protecting Vitamin A from destroyed by oxygen.

Scientists have also found that it is important in protecting the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which is absolutely essential to protect the prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are very important for regulating skin health. Acne starts to breakout when the prostaglandins are not working properly.

So think about, magnesium may not be as well known as the other nutrients for acne treatment, but it doesn't make it less important. On the contrary, without it, Vitamin B-6 can't be used to prevent pre-menstrual zits.
