subject: Pool Halls Or Blow-up Dolls: What's The Most Suitable Theme For Your Buddy's Bachelor Party? [print this page]

The Bachelor party is a pretty traditional part of weddings, like the best man speechs. All a bachelor party is, is to celebrate the Groom's last night as a single man. This can take on a variety of meanings. Make sure you know exactly what the Groom expects, and that you respect his wishes. The bachelor party is supposed to be a fun thing for the Groom and his buddies, and if your friend is the kind of guy that doesn't appreciate strip clubs and ridiculous amounts of alcohol, chances are he won't appreciate them at his bachelor party.

Whatever you plan for the bachelor party is open to a whole realm of possibilities. Bachelor parties hold the reputation of being drenched in alcohol and populated by a crowd of strippers, but this doesn't apply to all men. Once again, make sure you know what the Groom has in mind. If he prefers to spend the night playing pool and drinking beer, don't rent out a huge party house with a topless completely female staff and a team of bartenders.

Make a guest list and pick a good date well enough into the future so that all of the Groom's friends can attend. Decide what kind of menu you plan on having, and call a catering company well enough in advance to book for the night you want. If there's going to be drinking, consider in hiring a limo or another form of transportation so everyone can get home safe.

More and more parties are being combined to include both the Groom and the Bride. Bachelor parties can be uncomfortable to talk about with a Bride, especially if she doesn't think strippers qualify as legitimate entertainment. If the Groom wants to hold a party with his Bride-to-be, don't get mad. All that means is that the girls there are the friends of the Bride, as opposed to topless waitresses. You may also need to consider your best man speech before the wedding.

It's nearing the Big Day and you are on the home stretch. Get plenty of rest, because wedding days are long days, and you don't want to be phasing out during the party. Even though I know you won't cry, pick up some tissues before the wedding. I'm sure someone will need them. Your part in the wedding is very special, and you want to be able to perform to the best of your abilities. The Groom chose you to help carry him through this very special day, so be proud of that.

Get up there and be natural and, who knows, maybe have a little fun. This speech is the opportunity to show the Groom how much you value his friendship and that you wish him a long, beautiful life with his new Bride. Your main priority is just to share with the audience the relationship you hold with the Groom, as well as speaking for the audience when you toast the couple and wish them well. People stumble on speeches all the time, and there are people who are even more terrified of public speaking than you are. You've practiced and you're ready, so go give an awesome speech.
