subject: #1 R&b Artist On Soundclick.com, Maskerade [print this page] In 2005 Maskerade stepped on to the scene with his incredible first studio album, Luv Iz Crazi. A year after that he followed up with an extention to that album called Prilud 2 Luv. Both of these albums did extremely well on the independent market and overseas, but goals change after you get a chance to taste what success can truely be like.
This time around, I know what I should really be doing with the rest of my life. The fire inside of me will never leave. Sometimes it can be just a tiny flame, and other times it can be a blazing inferno. But it never goes out. Its always there, explains Maskerade. With that we introduce the world to the third installment in the Maskerade Saga, The Fire and the Flame .
Maskerade placed very high in a few industry known songwriting contests. Outta Control, from the new album, was a finalist in the UK Songwriting contest of 2008. How to Deal, also from the new album, was a semi finalist in the same contest. In the 2008 Broadjam 6-pack Songwriting contest, Maskerade was the fifth overall winner.
The Fire and the Flame hit the markets in 2009. Its a compelling set of 13 super hot songs that Maskerade took upon himself to both produce and write. Maskerade details, It was a lot harder that time through because I had to really work at making each track different. At the same time though, I wanted them to have that signature Maskerade feel to them. It was a lot of work, but it was really fun getting it done.
From a very young age, Maskerade has always been a songwriter at heart. Having to sit on the outside of the music industry for so long has given him the motivation to do something big this time around. When you listen to The Fire and the Flame you will enjoy R&B at its purist level, from the artist directly to you. Thats the way music was meant to be heard.
In 2010 the Maskerade's goals are much different. Being a great songwriter all this time, the crooner is hoping for an opportunity to get recognized by the industry's leaders. Maskerade enlisted the help of several producers while he mainly focused and writing and recording great songs. The result of that teamwork is his latest project, I AM MASKERADE. The new album will be loaded with tracks that will engulf the listener into a musical fantasy. "I am looking forward to performing a lot and just having fun with music," explains Maskerade, "I may never be a huge star, but I know I'm a great songwriter. That's what I aim to prove."
So, look out. Maskerade is surely on his way to greatness with tracks like "Picture in the Air" and true R&B joints like "My Heart Wanna Dance". Look for an eclectic mixture of Pop and Hip-Hop tracks as well. I AM MASKERADE should be launching late 2010 to early 2011.
