Well, as any career, a scientific career has its benefits and its drawbacks. Actually, the drawbacks are fewer, though considerable and depend on ones personal abilities.

However, let us start with positive things.

1.First of all, it is certainly a privileged position. The privilege lies in the fact that you have an opportunity to observe a current state of the field of science you work in.

2.Second, it is future possibilities and an opportunity of a career growth.

3.You can make a considerable investigation to the science. Moreover, your research can be innovational and valuable for all mankind. For example, if you are doing a research in medicine you can save many lives. Moreover, you can have an impact on your field of science introducing new ideas before anybody else.

4.Bear in mind that the nature of your research is constantly changing, as the information is always getting renewed and one should be aware of all recent changes and innovations.

5.And finally, you do things that are interesting for you and where you develop your knowledge almost every day, consequently, it is never boring.

In order to prevent the disappointment, one should be ready to meet certain difficulties. So, they are.

1.Your work can be rather frustrating and difficult. It is an everyday challenge to your patience and persistence.

2.Frequent disappointment. Often your experiment will not work and you will not know the reason and the way out.

3.And the last thing. The funding for your research is often small in quantity. Consequently, you can even stop your work for some years.
