subject: Lady Antebellum Tickets - Lady Antebellum Among Grammy Performers [print this page]

Along with reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year and Billboard's Artist of the Year Taylor Swift, another country act will be representing country music by performing at the upcoming 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in January 2010: Lady Antebellum. The twice-nominated trio will take the stage at the Grammy telecast in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 2010. The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will be telecast live on CBS, but if you want to see Lady A live, head online for Lady Antebellum tickets today!

Lady Antebellum is nominated in the Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group category (for hit song "Love Don't Live Here Anymore") and the coveted Best New Artist categories. This is the first time Lady A has been recognized by the Grammys, and the Best New Artist is always one of the most heated categories, as it sees artists from all genres vying for the prize. Also in the running for the Best New Artist honor at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards are British chanteuses Duffy and Adele, the Jonas Brothers and singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan.

If Lady A walks away with a win for Best New Artist at the Grammys, it will be the country trio's third Best New Artist honor, as they have ACM and CMA trophies in the category already! One-third of Lady A, Dave Haywood, recently told The Boot, "I never thought after the ACM win that anything better could happen. Then when we won at the CMAs, I told everyone I could die a happy man. This is the coolest thing that will ever happen in my lifetime."

Vocalist Charles Kelley chimed in, saying, "The list of people who have been nominated in the Best New Artist Category over the years is stacked with all our idols. We are really grateful to the music community for welcoming us into the circle."

Lady Antebellum began climbing the rungs of country music in 2006, after Georgia natives Kelley and Haywood met the lone female of the group, Nashville native Hillary Scott, in Music City. The trio honed their live skills playing anywhere they could (mostly dive bars) but eventually wound up on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, opening for big names in country like Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw!

Capitol Nashville scooped up Lady A in 2007 and the trio's single "Love Don't Live Here" became an instant success. After opening for Martina McBride on tour, Lady Antebellum set to work on their debut album. Produced by country music hit-makers Victoria Shaw and Paul Worley, Lady Antebellum's self-titled debut album soon followed and topped Billboard's Country Albums chart (also peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart) thanks to "Love Don't Live Here" and "Looking for a Good Time."

Lady Antebellum's sophomore album, Need You Now, will arrive on Jan. 26, although the single of the same name recently topped the country music charts! The Boot offered a sneak peek at the album cover for Lady A's upcoming release recently, which sees the trio striking a pose in all-black clothing. The trio is sure to find more success on their sophomore set.
