According to figures recently released, the second most dangerous place in England for road traffic accidents with children is Liverpool. Solicitors in Liverpool have noted an increase in road traffic accident claims in the based five years.

These figures were released as part of the research conduct from Road Safety Analysis, a non-for-profit organisation. In addition to this research, they found that children who were in more deprived areas were more likely to fall victim to road traffic accidents that those children who lived in more affluent postcodes.

It is estimated that children are five times more likely to suffer from an accident than children who live in areas such as Kensington and Chelsea.

The research was conducted using postcodes from across 408 local authority areas, and included children up to the age of 15. Over the course of five years, more than 120,000 road traffic accidents that resulted in casualties were recorded.

Dan Campsall, director of Road Safety Analysis, said: "The results of this study show a worrying discrepancy between different parts of the country.

"Children in some areas experience considerably higher risk from road traffic crashes than others living just over the border."
