subject: Los Angeles Lakers Tickets - A Repeat On The Horizon? [print this page]

Just 24 games into the 2009-10 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have that championship look to them. The Lakers are fresh off winning the NBA title last season and are in a great position for a repeat. At 20-4, they're currently tied with the Boston Celtics for the best record in the NBA and should pull away from the pack in the Western Conference as the season wages on.

The demand for Los Angeles Lakers tickets is extremely high, and for good reason. This team has to be considered the favorite to win the title right now.

The talent the Lakers have on their roster is staggering. Let's start off with Kobe Bryant. He's one of the best players in the league, if not the best, and is having yet another fantastic season. Lately, he's been playing with a broken index finger on his shooting hand but is still dropping huge totals on opposing teams, even hitting a game-winning buzzer beater in overtime as well. He still scores a lot of points these days, but he's got a better grasp of the kind of basketball that it takes to win on the NBA level. He's more unselfish than ever, which is an especially good thing when you consider the help he's got.

Pau Gasol would be the best player on a lot of teams in the NBA. NBA executives around the league are still bitter about the Lakers landing Gasol for next to nothing in a trade two years ago. Despite helping the Lakers to a championship and being the Robin to Kobe's Batman, Gasol still doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's one of the more versatile big men in the league today. He really has no weakness.

Some people declared Gasol as soft after the Finals against Boston, but he's since proven that that's not the case. He's probably the best offensive rebounder in the league and can score in a variety of ways. He's got a great touch around the basket, plays good defense and is one of the best passing big men in the association. I really can't say enough good things about Gasol.

I recently heard someone say that they thought that Andrew Bynum would be a 25-10 guy on a lot of other teams and I think that it's totally plausible. This kid, despite being a mere 22 years of age, is a beast. He's a legit seven-footer with serious length and a soft touch around the hoop. His numbers are deflated due to the talent on this team. Put him on a young team without a good center and he's an All-Star.

The addition of Ron Artest has really worked out well for the Lake Show so far. He's providing the team with a toughness they lacked last season and is giving them solid offensive production, as well. I still think Trevor Ariza was the better long-term move, but if the Lakers win it all again this season then it really won't matter much. The thing that shows how good this team really is, in my opinion, is the fact that a player of Lamar Odom's caliber comes off the bench. I am confident in saying that Odom would start on almost any other team in the league.

The Lakers also have a variety of bench players that prove valuable to the team. They're insanely talented, deep and have the best coach in the game's history. I would be very surprised, barring injury, if the Lakers did not at least make the NBA Finals with relative ease.
