subject: Work For Students Is Not A Slavery But A Good Chance [print this page]

When people talk about part-time job for students, they imagine a poor young person cleaning the floors or dishwashing in some restaurant. But now there are lots of other opportunities for working students. For instance, students may work as assistants of managers, teachers, nurses, etc. Thus, you may find any part-time job which can be very helpful for your future occupation. How to get such job? What to do?

1.Commitment. You should decide what job exactly you need. Of course, you need some extra money, but it is not the most important. You should know what you are going to do in your life.

2.Study. You should find out what jobs are available. Of course, you will not become a boss, but you can choose the right job for you. Learn what is expected from employees.

3.Resume. You should write a good resume. In this paper you should reveal your achievements and your commitment to become a good and helpful part of the employers team. However, do not embroider, be honest. After your resume is ready, start sending it to potential employers.

4.Preparation. You should understand that interview will be crucial for decision making. Thus, you should present yourself in the best possible way. First of all, think over the answers to possible questions. Why have you decided to work? Why did you choose this very company? What do you study and why? It is also very important to look neat. If you wear your bright T-short and jeans, you are likely to fail to get the job. Of course, it is not an opera to wear a tailcoat. Find the golden mean.

5.Interview. Finally, at the interview you should be calm and sincere. Do not take any sedatives to calm down, you can make even worse. Relax. Think that you are communicating with a nice person who wants to give you a job.
