Everyone has to deal with stress on a daily level. Even though stress can cause us harm, it actually is good for us in low doses, because it prods us to get things done and protect ourselves.

But, like everyone knows, a lot of stress for an extended period of time is a bad thing. I think that clutter plays a huge role in the amount of stress that you deal with on a daily basis. I'm not kidding, you'd be surprised to see how much less stressful your life is when the clutter is gone. Let's take a look at two big reasons why reducing the clutter in your life will reduce the stress in your life.

A messy home definitely can cause lots of stress. People are not naturally comfortable in a cluttered home, we prefer order and structure. Thing is though, many people just end up growing used to the clutter and the problems it causes each day.

A unorganized home is not easy to live in because it is always hard to find things. I think everyone would agree that you will lose many more things in a cluttered home than in a organized home. I personally have lost important things like my wallet and mp3 player when my home was a mess, and that certainly put a strain on me!

Another way that a cluttered home causes stress has to do with all the extra energy, physical and mental, that is expended throughout the day because of the clutter. Wasting time and energy each day, searching for things that you can't find, you are increasing your stress. You probably underestimate the amount of stress it can lead to, but it really adds up. Everything takes more effort in a cluttered home, whether you are cooking, hosting, or cleaning. Get rid of the clutter in your home and you'll be amazed at how much better you feel each and every day! I can promise you that!
