subject: Banish Tinnitus – The Single Worst Thing About It [print this page]

If you are a tinnitus sufferer and haven't been able to make it go away, then you will no doubt be thinking that the noise in your ears is the single worst thing about your condition. I will tell you what that is and where you can find more information about how to banish your tinnitus.

After all, what could be worse than that constant high pitched whining, ringing, buzzing or whatever noise is it that you hear in your ears when you are suffering from tinnitus?

Well believe it or not, that might actually be the least of your worries. Living with these symptoms is of course a terrible strain and there may be times when you get so frustrated that you can't make the noise stop.

But, living with tinnitus for any length of time can lead to a great deal more than frustration and this is what you need to be aware of and guard against.

The lack of sleep you experience, the frustration of not being able to turn off that noise, the fact that you find it difficult to concentrate on anything because of the distraction can all lead to more than frustration.

Once you become anxious about any of this, the tinnitus can be exacerbated and in the long term you may find that you are affected by depression. Of course this doesn't just affect you and make everything even more difficult to cope with, but it can affect those around you and your relationship them.

This in turn can push you into an even deeper depression.

So it is extremely important that you understand your tinnitus condition and that your share that understanding with people around you, so that they can give you support when you most need it.

Take advantage of any prescription medicine your Doctor might advise, consider natural remedies and methods and don't just give up.

Talk to your Doctor about what support you can tap into. There might be fellow sufferers that your Doctor can put you in touch with and it is important to know what help you can expect if you do start to slip into a depression.

Try to keep as busy and active as possible. Not only will this distract you from your tinnitus to some degree, but it will also help to prevent you from becoming anxious and depressed.

Do not avoid socialising and make sure that you surround yourself with friends and family as much as possible.

Read as much as you can to make sure you understand the causes and the latest possible treatments available for your tinnitus
