When many people think of a destination for their ultimate escape, they plump for the Australian Outback. While much of the area is wilderness, and has a climate which makes extensive exploration uncomfortable, there are also many tourist sights and centres which are considered essential stops for sampling a true flavour of Australia's mysterious interior.

Aside from mining and agriculture, the Outback relies heavily on tourism for its income, but getting around can involve long journeys, both in terms of distance and the time needed to complete them. That doesn't stop tourists flocking to the area in their droves, however, especially when they can take advantage of freight shipping to Australia to take care of moving their luggage around while they head off to explore this area of vast, open spaces.

Freed from the restrictions of having to carry every item of baggage, there are several locations spread over a wide area which can be visited. The Flinders Ranges boast landmarks daubed with examples of Aboriginal art, along with archetypal Aussie pubs where visitors can wash down their bush tucker with a few lagers.

Meanwhile, Longreach in Queensland is the place where the country's national airline, Qantas, was founded. The Stockman's Hall of Fame gives an insight into the people who have made their living off the harsh Outback landscape for generations.

A quintessential experience of crossing the Outback is considered to be the traverse of the Nullarbor Plain. Meaning literally no trees', the Plain is traversed by the longest stretch of straight railway line in the world, at 478 kilometres (297 miles) long, and running from Kalgoorlie to Port Augusta. Such was the engineering task involved in constructing the line that the original line, opened in 1917, was frequently severed by shifting desert sands, and it was not until 1970 that work on laying completely new tracks, able to take modern trains, was completed.

Light aircraft also offer a network of services across the Outback. Taking large amounts of luggage on these, through, is impractical, so there is considerable use made of luggage forwarding facilities which will send on large consignments separately. And when a holiday or longer stay in Australia has incorporated such long, unforgettable journeys, undertaken while travelling light, it is understandable that many travellers also choose to use international shipping facilities to get their belongings safely home again.

Freight shipping to Australia frees up the traveller to get the most from any experience of visiting the country. And getting those inevitable souvenirs that are gathered along the way back home safely, shipping from Australia to UK is also a valuable service.
