subject: Transcription Is My Key [print this page] There are several reasons I would like to be a online medical transcriptionist. The first being that I would love to be able to stay at home with my children. I am 30 years old and expecting my third child this summer. My husband is in school to be a nurse anesthetist and his schedule is only going to get more intense. I have always worked 60 hour work weeks and have never been around for my children the way I would like to be. My husband has always been the parent who stayed at home and was able to attend all of the children's functions. He has always supported me when my job made us move or I needed 6 weeks of training in another city across the state. My job has always been the priority. When the kids would get sick, there was never any way for me call in to work so he had to. I would like to be the one that is able to stay at home with the kids and support my husband the way a wife should. The second reason is for financial freedom. I would like to be able to make my own work schedule and get paid what I am worth.
Working as a manager is an incredibly underpaid position. Servers and cooks end up making more than I do and work less. And the third reason is to be able to quit the restaurant business once and for all. I am a restaurant manager and it has taken its toll on my body. The advantages of working in the MT industry go hand in hand with the reasons I want to be an MT. Because of the growing demand in the health industry there will always be a need for MT's. This in turn, means job security for me and my family. I would be able to work in a doctor's office or in my own home and be able to plan around my children's schedules instead of missing out on so much of their lives. The flexible work week and hours are both great benefits. Future MT is my key to being a great mom. It has the benefits of being flexible and affordable. I am the only employed person in this growing family of four, so finding a program I could possibly afford is very difficult. Nothing is affordable when one income takes care of 4 people. I currently support my husband in the winter months while he is in school. SN:0TG9Y2ESY
The flexibility of the courses was a must when I was searching. I needed something that was online and didn't have a set schedule of classes. I work very odd and very long hours. I can work fairly quickly on given assignments and wanted something self-paced. Future MT had all of these qualities. Currently my goals as a work at home medical transcriptionist are quite high. I would like to be able to complete any training necessary to put me on the fast track of financial success. If I received my certificate first then I could possibly get a decent paying position in the field. That would give me a considerable amount of time to complete the next level and get my degree. I would like to be able to do this within the next couple of years. 5 years from now I plan on being in a well paid position while staying at home and raising my beautiful children. I see myself having a stable income and sitting at the dinner table every night with my family. Any future classes or certificates that I need to stay competitive in the MT field will definitely be a priority. I have always felt the need to be the best at whatever I am doing and have never failed. If given a scholarship to take the FutureMT courses I will have been given a great gift.
