Great minds develop when people come together and share knowledge and teach about the same to the future generations. It's from the same knowledge that professors and other great scholars emerge. Africa is well endowed by scholars who are highly recognized world wide. Though many scholars have left for greener pastures to the western countries, they have left behind great legacy in books and great journals to be found in libraries and universities.

Great scholars like Ngugi wa Thiong'o from Kenya is famous for his book in African history and drama. Though he is based in an American university where he is the head of African languages, his books and journals are sold worldwide. Kenyan universities preserve a lot of literature that he left behind. There is also a book he released recently known as The Wizard of The Crow', that has deep literature on Africa. Another big scholar from Africa is Chinua Achebe from Nigeria. He is a writer and head of literature in a European country.

This Great scholars known as Chinua Achebe has quite a nice book on African literature known as Things Fall Apart'. You can read this great book when you visit African libraries. Not only scholars that we can read about in books, also African leaders like Nelson Mandela whose autobiography is one of the best. This book called Long Walk to Freedom' is the best for those who would like to know how some of the African countries acquire their freedom and the struggle involved.
