subject: Is There A Treatment For My Ringing Ears? [print this page]

Ringing Ears, also known as Tinnitus, is one of those things that happen to people that most of the general public know little to nothing about, unless that is, you happen to suffer from it. I have spent countless amounts of time trying to explain to friends and family alike what the sounds of Tinnitus actually sound like. The noise you hear in your ears is different for everyone who suffers from it and all I ever wanted was to find a real tinnitus treatment, to find some relief from the nagging noise in my ears.

Spending time in doctor's offices was not very successful for me, because at first they could find no cause for the constant noise in my ears. Because there are so many different causes of Tinnitus, and so many external factors that have to be taken into consideration, it is hard sometimes to factor in the pertinent info to diagnose a cause. Eventually, though, they found a cause as well as a great treatment. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. But for many that still struggle with the problem, there really is hope. Today we have a lot of new treatments for Tinnitus.

There are new medical procedures now, everything from surgery to laser treatments and new prescription medications that can help stop the noise in your ears. There are also a lot of new homeopathic remedies that don't have all the side effects that traditional medication does. It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. One of the main things you can do to alleviate that nagging noise in your ears is to not take your hearing for granted.

There are other unique treatments like sound therapy. The use of white noise has been very successful and is one of my personal favorites. I have a sound machine next to my bed and I have trained myself to use it to relax and drift off to sleep. They also use some low-pitched sound therapies that are showing great results.

Be sure to keep your personal hygiene up to keep the ear wax in your ears maintained. Believe it or not, that is one of the largest contributing factors to tinnitus. Early childhood ear infections are also high on the list. But the biggest contributing factor is noise. You really need to stay away from extremely loud noises. I'm not saying you can't have a good time, but I'm advising you to take proper precautions and use ear plugs. Trust me; you can still hear the music just fine.

The best advice I can give to anyone who suffers from this strange malady, is to keep trying. Having spent countless hours searching for my own treatment, I 'm sure you will be able to find a treatment for your tinnitus as well. Just don't stop looking until you find your answer.
