subject: Getting Others To Join Your Direct Marketing Network [print this page]

The problem is many people just starting out with network marketing go about getting others to join their direct marketing network all wrong. For instance, they start by trying to recruit friends and family members who may sign up just to do them a favor. The problem with this is that those people are not going to really work in the long term to keep the network successful.

The goal is to line your direct marketing network with people who genuinely want to be in the business with you and who are going to work for the success of the network as a whole. It's like putting together a team that you trust and which can work together to help one another out. That is how you all become successful in the long run.

Use the Internet

This creates your "down line" which allows you to profit from the hard work of others that have signed up under you. In order to bring in big profits and be successful as a team every member of this down line has to work extremely hard.

Instead of going door to door or guilt tripping your friends and family members, go online and use all of the resources available there to reach out to people from all over the world. The Internet has actually made network marketing easier because you aren't limited to people who live in your immediate area.

You can also be more productive at finding people to join your direct marketing network when you work online because you don't have to physically knock no doors and drive around town. You can go from one website to another and use many forms of advertising to reach out to millions of people at once.

When you use all available resources you can actually be reaching out to others while you are sleeping, on vacation, or otherwise off enjoying your life.

Don't Direct Sell

One mistake many beginners make is to push the business too hard. If your direct marketing network is a valuable, worthwhile business others will see that without you pushing it in their face with brute force. Go with a soft sell that highlights the benefits of joining your network and you will get much further with most people.

Determine Your Target

When you sell products you have to know your target market and selling your business to others is no different. Figure out what type of person is most likely to enjoy the marketing opportunity you have to offer and then find ways to reach out to them online. This way you are not just begging random people to join your direct marketing network.

Figure out what these people want and need and find ways to offer them what they want. You want to put your direct marketing network in a light that they will see it as the answer to their problems.

Yet, you can't misrepresent anything. If you entice people with false promises they will see through it and your network line will not be successful in the long term. Tell the truth but also ensure everyone knows how great your direct marketing network actually is!
