subject: Project Getaway 2011 - The Ultimate Car Rally Across Europe [print this page] Project Getaway is a Car Rally of epic proportions, covering over 2000miles of European roads and climate in seven days.
Departing from Plymouth, Devon on 25th August 2011 the adventure begins with a night aboard Brittany ferries, cabin included, allowing everyone to mingle and get to know their co-drivers for the following seven days / nights.
On the 26th August we arrive in Roscoff, where everyone can gather their wits about them ready to head to our first destination, Paris!
The road to Paris is a Long, but relatively simple drive, passing through Rennes and Le Mans, and taking approximately six hours. The long drive is well rewarded however, with a night in the fantastic Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel, only a stone throw from the Eiffel Tower! Facebook profile picture opportunities right there!
After one night in Paris', on the 27th August the convoy is to make its way to Luxembourg for our second stop. A relatively short drive time of only four hours along the A4 brings us straight into the heart of Luxembourg where we shall be staying at the Novotel Luxembourg Kirkberg.
After another night of mingling with your fellow petrol heads, it is again time to flee the coop, and head to our next stop. On the 28th August we shall make our way to the Novotel Zurich Airport Messe, for a night in Zurich, Switzerland! Home of the expensive watch and the well-endowed army penknife, and for one night, to Project Getaway's arsenal of motors!
The morning of the 29th August we embark on a day of winding roads, picturesque views and epic heights as we make our way to our target destination, Stelvio Pass in the Swiss Alps. We will spend an hour or two stopped in the Alps so that you can sample this fantastic piece of highway engineering for yourselves before we make our way to the slumber destination of choice, Milan! A night in the birth country of the Ferrari staying in the Novotel Milano Linate Aeroporto will hopefully be enough to recharge those batteries!
After a deeply relaxing sleep (hopefully), on the 30th August we begin our long trip back to the UK. We leave Milan and head west back into France, for a night in Nice. The Novotel Nice Centre hopefully living up to its name as we look forward once again to our Croissants and Pain Au Chocolats for breakfast, and sample a more quaint side of France.
The 31st August is our last night on the Continent (although not the end of the trip!). We make our way across the Spanish border for a night at the home of the world famous football club, Barcelona! The Novotel Barcelona Sant Joan Despi is our dwelling of choice as we all prepare for the epic drive across Spain the following morning!
A Pinch and a punch might be needed for the 1st September, as we all leave Barcelona at 6am to make our way across Spain to Santander taking six and a half hours! The ferry for the UK leaves at 15:00 so make sure you get up on time!
Once on the ferry though it is time to relax, sit down and have a well-deserved drink! Chill out at the bar and enjoy the gentle rocking of the boat as we calmly make our way back home.
Don't think that it all stops there though! Once in Plymouth you can prepare yourself for the Project Getaway After-Party! Get on your glad rags and check in to the Novotel Plymouth, where you will then be chauffeured to Revolution for a night of dedicated wind down partying! With drinks offers and no long drives to worry about you can finally party out those stiff legs!
The after party is obviously not compulsory, and can be selected on the booking form as an optional extra.
