Step 2- I fire up my computer and do a search in Google. I'll usually start with sites like Best Buy but mainly I go with Amazon. I like these 2 sites because offer the variety, discount prices and they have just about every brand you could possibly and want. When I am on the sites, I am looking specifically for computers that are in my price range, for me it's usually $1000 or less. You can find a good laptop of high quality for less than $1000 in case you're wondering.
Step 3- My last step is to look at and read everything about the laptop. Pay attention to the reviews. Look at the customer star ratings on Amazon. Focus on the good comments as well as the bad. Compare all of the items on your list with the features of the laptops that you're looking at. Start checking off everything on your list and be sure you write down the different brands. After you've spent about an hour or so doing that, you should have a nice list a computers to choose from that will give you, according to your needs a list of the best laptops to buy.
