subject: The Great Outdoors Is Calling You [print this page]

Camping is extremely alluring and it's no wonder because America has plenty of parks and recreation areas to seek adventure. Stay overnight or just spend a few hours. It doesn't matter because there's a lot to do to fill your time. At sites around the country you can stargaze, ride bikes and so much more. You'll find that Mother Nature has lots to offer.

With the help of the Internet and industry magazines its easy to research campsites around the country to help you plan your getaway. The numerous national parks throughout the US are always destination hotspots. The Grand Canyon and Yosemite national parks are just two of the breathtaking opportunities. There are also many camping options that are less traveled but no less amazing. You can hike year round through the Forty Mile Canyon in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah. Narrow in some places and broad in others, the hike through the canyon is full of challenge and beauty. When you need a little cooling down, you can jump into the pool beneath the 12-foot waterfall or try out some of the other glistening pools.

Beyond the tall buildings of the cities, the San Gorgonio Mountain in California presents a spectacular view. On this popular Southern California trail you can hike up 11,000 feet over the sprawling multi-ecozone perch. There will be nothing to hinder your view of the wide blue sky and puffy white clouds from so high up. Across the country, the Appalachian Mountains of several states and the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina also offer amazing sights.

For unique camping adventures, don't be afraid to look for undiscovered and little-known areas. If you're looking to bare it all, consider the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Michigan. At Porcupine Mountains you'll see an amazing colorful view of sunset surrounded by trees and soothing waters. For optimal stargazing away from the concrete and smog of the city, a great place to camp is Mount Wrightson Wilderness in Arizona. High on the tree-free summit you can see the Milky Way like youve never seen it before. Though it's not most known for camping, Hawaii is also a great destination for camping and adventure.

Outdoor entertainment is just waiting to be discovered by you. Not only can you see and admire nature's wonders, you can also experience it. From sea to sea, the US is a vast playground waiting for you.
