subject: Swansea Photographer: How To Deliver A Professional Service [print this page]

Well known Swansea Photographer Collin Davies of High Society Photography continues to hit the headines.

Even though he had been recognised for his work previously it was the introduction to digital photography that really improved the range and quality of images that Collin could produce. Through the use of software together with the high quality pictures Collin found he show his customers some amazing options.

Whilst he may have been previously rewarded for his traditional photography the start of digital photography charged his imagination and his enthusiasm for this new medium resulted in a very early attendance at Adobe's first training sessions on producing outstanding images using the Adobe Photoshop software.

Always one to invest in new technology it wasn't long before his studio was equipped with the latest hardware and software allowing him to produce some stunning photographs and offer the option of special effects and other digitally manipulated techniques to enhance the experience of his clients.

Known all over Swansea and South Wales Collin is recognised as a top quality wedding photographer with years of experience but this new technology has given him opportunities denied by conventional equipment.

Convential cameras and the film they used had limitations due to lighting levels and film sensitivity which meant capturing images whilst in the church was virtually impossible as flash would have been inappropriate.

Kodak was one of the first companies to create a wedding photographers dream camera which was well suited to the poor lighting conditions found in most churches and being someone who wanted the best results for his clients it wasn't long before High Society purchased this new equipment.

Being a Swansea photographer of vast experience Collin understands that modern day customers demand more than a photo, they want to be thrilled and his continual upgrading of hardware and software gives him the opportunity to overdeliver.

Professionals have realised that the days of shoot, print, present and sell have gone.

Digital cameras have the ability to present an image directly from the camera to the screen resulting in quick adjustments to composition or lighting for that perfect photograph.

However, the opportunities that avail themselves once the picture has been taken is now endless. From software manipulation of the image to the medium on which it is presented, the choices are many.

Traditionally the process would have been take the photographs, show them to the customer, choose the photos they wanted together with sizes and that would be the end of the matter.

Nowadays there is a choice with everything from traditional media such as printed photographs to compact disc and high end studio's such as High Society have the hardware and software to project your image and choice of frame onto the wall allowing you to select the desired final end product before its even produced!
