subject: Imagine Working From 7 In The Morning To 6 At Night And Loving Every Minute Of It [print this page]

There is no way I can know what your passion is or how well you are coping with it. So, my choice is to share with you my personal experiences and hope that they will be of some use.

Personally I think that passion is what life is all about. If you don't have a passion for what you are doing you will never either do it very well or be proud of what you did manage to do.

Stop and think for a minute. Is there anything that you can conjure up that would enthrall you all day every day? Do you have a dream that you have buried because you have been pressured to be more practical?

My plea to you is to look for your passion. Find out what you are here on earth to do. Once you have the feeling that there is a place for you and a reason for you to exist you will find the impetus and the drive to make miracles.

We all have a niche in life. The only catastrophe is when one settles for less than what one is supposed to be doing here.

Get out there and examine your true desires and see what you have a sufficient passion for to endure any and all hardships and failures that may come your way.

You will be surprised at how much you can endure and how easy it is to turn failure into motivation if you are following your quest and really and truly using the passion from deep down inside to drive you and possibly your family toward a goal that you know you are meant to attain.

For instance, there is no disgrace if you discover that your passion is to make lots of money and be able to indulge all sorts of fantasies and dreams because you will have the wherewithal to do it.

If this is your passion, develop the discipline, hunger and dedication to attain it.

It is not difficult to make money and lots of it. It just takes a lot of hard work, discipline and the ability to believe your dream and not only dream it but do it.

There is a wonderful world out there that is available to you wherever you are in life. All you have to do is have a dream, believe in your ability to realize it and get started doing it full speed ahead.

In order to put all of this into perspective I will share my personal experience with you.

I pursued my passion for playing the piano through to graduate school in New York City. I was by all forms of measurement a success. However, deep down I knew there was something missing. I would always be a musician. I was doing very well in New York City as a pianist. But, there was something missing and I had no idea what.

I kept on working and questioning why and what I was doing. I knew music was and would be my life, but I also really knew that the life of a pianist was not the answer, even though (immodestly) I did it very well.

So, by keeping at it and not settling for a comfortable life which was available as a pianist, I strove for my goal, my quest.

Eventually, through a crazy series of circumstances, I discovered that I was really here on earth to become a conductor. As soon as I was grown up enough to accept this, life became a miracle and has continued that way for over 50 years.

So, follow you passion no matter where it might lead you and live life to the full. You may or may not make a lot of money, but you will have the trip to end all trips.
