And it's not just cornered into one type of celebrity.A high number of athletes have resided in Pompano Beach. Alshinard "Al" Harris, an American football cornerback who currently plays for the Green Bay Packers was born in Pompano Beach in 1974. A graduate of the cities Blanche Ely High School, the two-time pro-bowler has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles.Also, the McDougle brothers, Jerome and Stockar, both played in the NFL and were both born in Pompano Beach. Stockar played eight years in the NFL as an offensive linemen, spending time with the Detroit Lions (2000-2004), the Miami Dolphins (2005), and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2006-2007). Jerome, who received the Eagles Ed Block Courage Award in 2006, played with both the Philadelphia franchise and spent a season with the New York Giants.Eddie Jones, a 3-time NBA All-Star, was also born in Pompano Beach. After playing for Temple University under coach John Chaney, Jones was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 10th overall pick. He has appeared in games for the Lakers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Miami Heat, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Dallas Mavericks.There is also a lot of musical talent. Jordan Pundik, the vocalist for the pop-punk band New Found Glory, was born in Pompano Beach. Pundki is the frontman for the American rock band, as well as the guitarist for the band's side-project, a hardcore punk band dubbed "The International Superheroes of Hardcore."There's also Paolo Gregoletto, who despite being born in Miami, Florida, currently resides in a Pompano Beach Florida beachfront condo. Gregoletto is the bass player for the band Trivium. He was also previously a member of Metal Militia, with whom he also provided vocals.And like any celebrity-filled city, Pompano Beach has its share of entertainers. Retired second-generation WWE wrestlers Jake "The Snake" Roberts currently resides in Pompano Beach. So did the late Roland "Bad Boy Leroy Brown" Daniels, another former wrestler.The actor Kelsey Grammer also spent time at Pompano Beach. Grammer, of course, is well-known for his two-decades spent portraying Dr. Fraiser Crane, nine years on NBSs Cheers and an additional eleven in the most successful spin-off in modern television history, Fraiser.And let's not forget current resident Al Goldstein, founder of the pornographic magazine Screw back in 1968.
