subject: Stuck Waiting For Your Parcel To Be Delivered? Take Action! [print this page]

As many online shoppers know, there is always the anxious period where you are waiting to receive your parcel or goods bought on the internet, many people have taken to buying a wide range of items from CDs and DVDs to clothing and even their weekly food shopping. Typically it isnt before long when the postman comes a knocking to hand over our special delivery putting an end to the agonising wait.

For some people though this wait can drag on, and on, leading us to wonder where our parcel has got to or whether the neighbours dog has caught the postman. A recent news story told of a man who is still waiting for a parcel sent in October meaning hes been waiting for around 9 months for his delivery to no avail.

When you order something online or get notice of a friend or relative sending you an item you need to make sure you keep a track of your parcel. The best way to do this is using an online store or urging for a recorded delivery or service that includes detailed tracking of the delivery. Parcel tracking isnt exactly a new feature but with the rise of the internet it is easier for senders and receivers to trace the journey their parcel has taken and get a better idea over when to expect the parcel to be delivered.

Many of these services can come with the most basic of services from a parcel delivery company or courier and can be well worth the effort and extra money paid for the delivery. You are given a unique code to enter on to the couriers website which tells you where your parcel is at any point during the delivery.

There have been a lot of people who have had to claim compensation because their parcel has unfortunately been lost in the mail, when the parcel has not turned up in a significant time after the courier has guaranteed then you will want to get in touch with the seller/sender to find out whether you can find out details of the delivery such as the tracking code if they havent given you it already as well as the date it was sent.

Normally one of the parties involved typically the sender will contact the courier to file a complaint and an investigation into where your parcel has got to. If after their investigations the parcel has failed to turn up then you will be reimbursed the declared value of the item being sent which can be given to the intended recipient of the parcel as a refund/compensation.
