Apparently, an online movie news source has reported that plans to start shooting a sequel has already been set and before the first movie was even released.
Depending on how the first Green Lantern movie does in the box office and when Warner Bros and DC Entertainment wants to release The Flash, Green Lantern might be released either in Summer or Christmas 2012. If you think that was not enough, the third Green Lantern movie will be shot back-to back with Green Lantern 2.
As much as this report seems to be just a rumor it was suggested that apparently Warner Bros hired Green Lantern screenwriters Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim in June to come up with a treatment for the sequels.
Actor Mark Strong who plays Sinestro in Green Lantern has also recently told MTV that a sequel is being written and slipped some details on the storyline of the sequel.
"I've read somewhere recently they've already started writing the second one. And I think it does deal with the fall of Sinestro."
Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong is set for a June 2011 release.
I love superhero movies and can't wait to see Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner all teamed up by Green Lantern 3. Doubt that will happen though but a fan can dream can't he? Justice League! There I said it. Another thing that won't happen or will most likely be messed up. Maybe DC will get their act together when the Avengers come out.
