subject: Used Car Donations Vs. Scrap Car Removal Services [print this page] Had know Idea that a used car donation was in my near future, when I started trying to do something with my old clunker. I thought to myself well I can get a 2 or 3 hundred bucks for that rusted gas guzzler in the backyardfront of my house. It had not started in months and a little while ago I had made up my mind.
While searching google for a area junk yards or a towing service I quickly noticed a few things.
I disliked price checking, especially when it comes to unwanted items that I no longer use. The offers didn't sound all that appetizing to me. Secondly Our schedules weren't matching up to well.
Decided to go over to Youtube and see if there were any videos on cash 4 clunkers. Once I settle in on one, I dialed there number.. After giving
them a little information about my scrap car we were crossing the tees and dotting the eyes. The car salesmen had been very easy to talk so we started chating a bit, when he mentioned that there was an another choice to consider.
I was surprised he mentioned a car donation program. He also offered me $1000 gift voucher instead. Considering I didn't expect much for the old junker, I felt compelled to hear what he had to say.
He began to explain the charity that their charity offered and the groups of people that my car donation would help. I was extremely touched. Who would've thought that clunker could help battered women and there families, special-needs children get funding for school supplies, and inner-city youth have access to role-models and positive environments. Now I know you have to be doubtful when it comes to things like these so I didn't let on just how moved I was. So I made up a reason to give him a call back so I could think about it. I went to the computer to check out the program he mention and, make sure that it had the proper 501 (3) status as a non-profit organization. I read about the 3 different charitable programs they had setup. I also noticed
that they'd been around since 1991.
When I called back, he told me that he figured I was checking up on him.
I can't believe how great it felt to know that I was helping those in need and he even threw in an extra $1000 gift voucher for my used car donation. Just goes to show good things happen when you help others. I even told him if I ran across anyone else looking to get rid of a junk car, I would reccommend them to make a used car donation, rather than trading it in.
