Over time, a laptop power supply can become worn or damaged, especially when exposed in high temperature environment. The cable near the AC plug and the AC plug itself are especially vulnerable to be damaged as they are handled so frequently and receive the highest amount of strain. However, in a few steps the plug and cord next to the plug can be repaired without having to replace the entire power supply. As a laptop AC adapter killer, I often try new way to have my Toshiba PA3283U-2ACA AC Adapter revived for twice. So here tells you the secret.

Attention is that all these steps should be done under certain electronic skills. If you are just a green hand, don't try it. you will ruin your adapter, even hurt yourself.

First, cut the old plug off of the power cord about two inches from the end of the plug using a wire-cutting tool. Strip a 2-inch piece of the plastic sheath o rs. At the same time, strip a 1/2-inch piece of the plastic sheath off each of the three wires protruding from the power cord, exposing the bare metal.

Then disassemble the new AC plug to expose the back of the three prongs. Depending upon the type of replacement plug, you may need to insert the cord through the housing of the plug before attaching the wires to the prongs on the plug. Next is to loosen the screws on the back of the replacement plug. Then, place the white, black and green wire in their perspective terminal and tighten the screw while confirming that the bare metal of the wire makes good contact with the bare metal of the screw and prong.

Here I have finished this dedicated work and my Toshiba PA3283U-2ACA AC Adapter has got back to work. But its appearance looks so uncomfortable.
