subject: Solid Color Ties - The Workhorses In The Tie World [print this page]

Solid color ties are extremely popular among the ties worn by men. They are easy to pair up with one's suit and there is a sense of safety when it comes to wearing solid color ties. Some patterns may earn you a mockery from friends or even lose you some points with the ladies.

Solid color ties also work well in when you work for a conservative company. Some employers look askance at paisley ties, not to mention novelty ones. Solid color ties are simply safe as well as simply powerful in the corporate world. Single color ties, especially in silk, stand out in the best of way, projecting confidence and strength.

Red Neckties

Red ties are one of the most popular choice when it comes to male attire. Red ties are classic pairing for the universal white and black suit. The trend that is timeless is the monochrome choices. In this case, burgundy red is your best choice to pair with the black and white suit.

Blue Ties

It is safe to say that blue neckties are the number two choice in the world of solid color ties. Light blue ties go well with light khaki or cream suit. Dark blue ties, on the other hand, go well with the classic black and white as well as navy suit.

It is not the best choice however, if you want to project adventurous soul as blue ties indicate safety and comfort.

Yellow Ties

Yellow ties, especially silk ones are perfect with khaki suits and other light colored blazers. Pair yellow ties with light colored shirts or ones with thin stripes.

Avoid pairing yellow ties with black or dark suits. The point of ties are to add a pop of color to your suit. If your yellow tie doesn't show from under the intense black or dark suit, you might as well not wear a tie.

Green Ties

Green actually works best with red. While this may take your mind straight to images of tacky Christmas sweaters, toning it down is the trick. Pair green ties with thin red striped white shirts or very light purple shirts.

Orange Ties

Despite the color, orange ties are really useful when you need to wear that tough brown suit. Not too many people can pull off brown suits but when you have to wear it, orange ties are your best friends.

Again silk ties are the better choice, since they tone down extra brightness while giving a little of a 3D effect which helps make your whole attire stand out.

Pink Neckties

There is no need to freak out when you hear pink ties. They are perfectly acceptable and actually make a frequent appearance among Japanese businessmen. You might want to consider wearing these ties if you deal with them.

They work well with dark blue suits or blazers and white shirts. Try not to pair pink ties with pastel shirts however. This gives a too cute impression and not too many men want to give such impression.

Instead, pink ties can be paired with intense colored shirts, like cobalt blue, dark purple or, if you are up to it, intense emerald green.
