The key to getting a better quality of life as a wheelchair bound person is easier than ever with today's technological advances. The key, really, is to maintain as much independence as possible. With the wheelchairs that are available today, you can go nearly anywhere the average person can walk. Now, technology has made it possible for you to even be more independent in the vehicle. Advances like hand controls and Bruno turning seats have made it possible for you to get in the car and drive it around all on your own.

Hand controls have been for a while, but without Bruno turning seats, they're really not much good. When you can drive a car, that's great, but it rather defeats the purpose if you have to have someone else load your wheelchair and get you in the driver's seat. With a turning seat, you don't have to worry about this anymore. You'll actually be able to get into the driver's seat and take over the controls all on your own.

A turning seat is best used in conjunction with a side wheelchair ramp or lift. You can get in the side of your van and lock your wheelchair into place behind the driver's seat. Then, your seat will turn toward you, where you can make an easy sliding transfer over to it. Once you're settled into the driver's seat, you can turn it around so you're facing front. When you reach your destination, simply do the process in reverse to be back in your wheelchair and ready to go wherever.

This process may take some getting used to, but you'll love Bruno turning seats once you have worked with them for a while. They'll help you to go further faster in your wheelchair accessible van.

You can also get a turning seat for the front passenger seat. This is great if you're tired of sitting in the back when your loved one or partner drives. If you want to be where the action is so that you can act as navigator, a turning seat on the passenger side can make this process easier. Again, you just get in from the side of the van and slide into the seat when it's turned backwards. Once you get settled in, you can turn around and be ready to act as second in command.
