If you are looking to plan a bachelorette party then you are in for some work. It isn't hard or difficult to plan a bachelorette party, but it is important to stay organized while in the process. Keeping yourself organized will help you to make sure you don't miss anything important in the planning process. Here is a bachelorette party planning checklist you can use if you are planning such a party.

Step 1: Decide a bachelorette party theme. It will be best to consult with the bride to be to see what kind of party she would like. Some ideas you can present to her include a day at the spa, a trip to a winery, a night out on the town, or a poker party at home with close friends.

Step 2: Decide a date. Once you have decided the bachelorette party theme it is time to decide a date. Try to pick a date that isn't too close to the wedding. Two weeks or so prior to the big day is good. It's close enough to the actual wedding to give the bride to be the feeling that it's a "last fling" of being single, but not so close to the wedding that the guests might have a hangover from the party. Depending on the theme of the party you might have to be flexible when it comes to picking a date. If the bride to be has her heart set on a certain activity (like a day at the spa) the date you pick for the bachelorette party will depend on the availability at the spa.

Step 3: Decide a budget, and who is going to pay. This is an important step. For many bachelorette parties the guests will pay their own way and kick in a portion of the bride's cost. Sometimes one or two people will pick up the whole tab. Be clear on what is expected financially of the guests, and verify that they will be able to afford the cost of the bachelorette party.

Step 4: Form a guest list and invite guests. The women who get invited to a bachelorette party usually include the bridesmaids, close friends of the bride, and close female family members. If space is going to be limited (as in a spa day) the list might be small. If you are planning to meet up at a local bar or club to party, the guest list can be a bit bigger. The way you invite the guests is up to you. Some people like to send out formal bachelorette party invitations, while others are more comfortable using email or the phone.

Step 5: Create a menu. Unless you are going to a restaurant for your party, or the food is included in the bachelorette party, the party planner is going to have to create a menu. Is it going to be a pot luck type event where everyone brings a dish, or will one person cook for everyone? Perhaps you will just feed the guests some snack food while they play cards. It is important to decide the bachelorette party menu well ahead of the party day so you can make the necessary arrangements.

Step 6: Decorate the party venue. This step is only required if you are going to host a bachelorette party at your home or someone else's home. You won't need to get bachelorette party decorations if you are going to the spa, a winery, or amusement park (for example).

Step 7: Have fun! Now that the planning is done it is time to enjoy the bachelorette party. You deserve it after putting in all the work for the party.

Hopefully this bachelorette party planning checklist will help you if you are asked to plan one for a friend or family member. Staying on track and organized will help the process to go smoothly. This bachelorette party planning checklist was designed to help you so you can have fun, both during the process and at the actual party.
