Some devices are not equipped with the speaker and just send the signal to the monitoring center. Then they contact the caregivers or 911 depending on the urgency of the situation. A non-monitored emergency system comprises of 2 sections:
A portable radio transmitter provided with a speaker phone
A console with a connection to the phone line
During a crisis the user presses the transmitter's button and sends a wireless signal to the console that transfers the call directly to 911 emergency services. The user communicates with the 911 operator.
