subject: Hunter Pvp Squeezing The Pvper From Your Hunter [print this page] Hunters are a soloing class that is capable of leveling at insane speeds. This, along with their other trademark capabilities such as calling on their tanking pet minions, make them a really powerful class. In this Hunter PVP guide, you will learn the ropes of playing your Hunter against other players of WoW.
{Making That Shift From PvE To PvP}
After killing enough mobs, humanoids and monsters in Warcraft, you can test your acquired skills and talents by going head to head against actual players in the PvP Arena.
{Below are a few tips}:
{Work Solo Or With Groups}
You'll do well in both solo and group PvP. You'll prove your worth as a PvPer though if you're going solo. This is not to say though that you can't work in groups. You can. In fact, you can excel as a member of a large group, but mostly you can handle your team's opponents or a small portion of your team's enemies by yourself with the aid of your pet minion of course.
{To Melee Or Not To Melee}
Now, if you're going head to head against other players, it is best to maintain your range. You dont belong in a class that's geared for melee that can wade into the thick of the battle and whack your enemies to their deaths using your rifle. No, that's not your forte. Just leave the melee encounters to other classes that excel in that area and do the damage dealing from within your range. But you should never shy away from doing melee fights when the needs arises. You see, when you're pitted against another player, you'll do well within a melee range.
{Always Preserve Your Pet's Loyalty And Happiness}
Whether you're playing PvP or PvE, you should prioritize the Happiness and Loyalty of your pet. These affect its abilities to keep those powerful offensive attacks flowing like crazy. It is not really clear how these affect your minion, except that very low levels of happiness and loyalty may force your pet to leave you or perform below its maximum capacity.
Also, it's really to feed your pet with the right food from its diet and to train and tame it. Feeding your pet is integral to its performance.
{Get up talents suitable for PvP}
{Now here comes the tricky part}: If your character is not specced for PvP, you might want to tweak its talents to become more suitable for the PvP Arena. You wont be having problems if you're already rolling a Beast Mastery Hunter. Otherwise, you might benefit from unlearning some of your old talents and invest your points in this tree. Doing this will help with boosting your pet's talents and abilities.
Your Hunter PVP will also benefit from getting a few talents from the Marksmanship tree to enhance its bow or rifle.
