Sleeping on the side of ear that is not affected can cause some relief for a brief period of time. Persons can utilize cold packs to reduce the pain. If pain becomes worse or fluid comes from the ear, you should not put anything in your ear and you should get help from a medical professional. Also if a child develops a fever or the pain worsen, this is reason to get medical help

Earache is a common medical problem in children as well as in adults. Often, earache becomes the cause of pain and inflammation of the outer part of the ear called pinna or earhole.
