subject: Having Fun With Animals On Australia's Sunshine Coast [print this page]

So as you plan for your holiday to the Sunshine Coast of Australia you are looking forward to the ocean, the beaches and great meals in nice restaurants that are offered here. Should you be traveling in from somewhere far away you also will want to check out some of the adventures which include the creatures who live in this area. These creatures cannot be seen any place else on the planet, they only live here and are indigenous to the region.

There will be quite a few opportunities during your time here to be able to commune with the wild animals here on night creature tours, bird watching events, dolphin feeding tours and even tours to see the pelicans. These animals are capable of roaming free in a number of natural and man made natural settings. Here also the zoos give the animals freedom to wander about, unlike other areas in the world, with opportunities for the humans to feed them and touch them.

One of the most popular creature attractions in the Sunshine Coast is the Australia Zoo. Created by Crocodile Hunter, the late Steve Irwin and his family in the 1970's this zoo is more like a habitat for the natural creatures of this region. This was Steve's legacy and the family still continues to add to his dream even today. This zoo is over 70 acres and growing and houses over one thousand animals currently. Further expansions are in the works.

Here at this zoo you aren't just looking at animals in captivity you are able to tour the animal hospital, hold some koala bears and feed some elephants. These animals interacting with the humans are tame because priority one is saftey, but there are other chance to get closer to and actually touch some of the more amazing creatures.

There are daily shows and events that delight visitors and this natural setting is rich with plants and is truly an animal lovers dream. There is a lot to learn when it comes to the creatures of this region and you will find that the Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast is not just about getting to meet the animals but is also a learning experience that is fun for the entire family. There are many creature adventures throughout the coast but none is as fabulous as the Irwin's Australia Zoo.
