Expect to see egrets, grey herons, darters, spoonbills,

painted stork, open-billed stork, common teals, snakebirds, cormorants, white ibis, night herons and grey pelicans. Adding an exotic touch are migratory birds that come from different neighbouring countries as well as faraway places like Canada, Russia, and Central Asia. Listen to the myriad bird-sounds - with over 1, 00,000 birds, it can be quite noisy in the evenings when the birds return to roost.

The best time to visit is November-February when the migratory birds arrive. The best time of the day is between 3 to 6 pm when the birds return to their nests.
