subject: Do You Have Secret Allergies? [print this page]

When most people think of allergies, they think of the sneezing, coughing, and watery eyes associated with seasonal allergies. But many people have different types of allergies that they don't even realize they have. They even have symptoms of those allergies that they never connect to an actual allergy.

Usually, this type of allergy is associated with food. It could be a food that you eat everyday, or even every week. You may not break out in hives. You may not itch. Your throat may not start closing up. Instead, something much more subtle may start happening within thirty minutes to an hour of eating. Something that you would never even associate with the food that you ate.

For example, you may have one episode of loose stools. You may experience fatigue more often than you should. There could be any number of symptoms that indicate that you have an allergy to a certain food - or several different foods - that you can easily miss.

Often, the symptoms of a secret food allergy are so insignificant that you will ignore them altogether. But this means that you are not living life in the healthiest way possible, and you need to know if you have any food allergies at all. This is because these types of food allergies often lead to more serious problems, such as respiratory problems, cardio problems, digestive problems, immune system problems, muscle and bone problems, nerve problems, and skin problems. Hidden food allergies can have a detrimental affect on every system within the body.

Finding out if you have secret food allergies is really a great deal easier than you might imagine. It takes a visit to an allergist. Simply tell the doctor that you want to find out if you have any food allergies that you are not aware of or any sensitivity to foods that you are not aware of.

Another option is to order a food allergy test that you can use in your own home. Be careful when ordering such kits, because not all of these kits are accurate or very high quality. Your best bet is to visit an allergist, but not everyone can afford the tests performed by an allergist.

Regardless of how you do it, you absolutely must find those hidden food allergies that most of us have, so that you can avoid the foods that will eventually lead to very serious medical problems.
