Most common reason for promotion failure is the fact that most vendors promote their products to the wrong people.
The success and failure of your promotional campaign depends on the audience you're promoting to.
In this post I share tips that will help you find the correct audience to better promote your product.
Objective of Your Campaign
Your Target audience is determined by the objective of your campaign.
You need to specify the results which you want to achieve at the end of your campaign whether your objective is to just make your brand popular, generate more sales or you just want to increase the number of subscribers to your blog.
Buying Cycle
Are you trying to sell something? A customer doesn't take a decision to buy a product at once.
Before buying a product he does a lot of research on the alternatives which can fulfill his needs.
You need to know at which stage of the Buying Cycle your audience is currently located.
Your Promotional Campaign should target an audience which is currently at either Assessment of Alternatives Stage or at the Decision Stage of the Buying Cycle.
As a rule-people at these stages of the buying cycle always have maximum potential to be faster converted into buyers.
Timing and Location
Selection of your audience also depends on the Time and Location of your Promotional Campaign.
E.g.: if you are Promoting Your Woolen Garment Store in the summer then you are just wasting your Time and Money. But if you launch same campaign among the same audience in winters then you would definitely be generating some sales.
Consider the timing and location factors when you are identifying your target audience.
Social Networking
Search for communities, blogs and forums on the internet about your products where you can find your target audience.
Participate in conversations, tell people about your products and build relationships with your Potential Customers.
Trade Shows and Events
Trade Shows and Events are great places to find your Target Audience.
Participate in Relevant Trade Shows and Exhibitions to promote your products among the potential customers.
Measure Results
There is no better way of learning what works and what doesn't then looking at the results.
Promote your product at different places at the same time. Set benchmarks and compare your performance at each location with these benchmarks.
These results will help you identify what works best.
